Gov’t publishes 7 new general urban plans
Another seven General Urban Plans (GUP) for towns and town units were published in the Government Gazette on Thursday, specifying land use and terms and restrictions of construction.
Based on modern urban practices, the plans take into account sustainable urban mobility, and the protection of state and private property.

Two Kurds arrested on foot of warrant
Two Turkish nationals of Kurdish origin were arrested on Tuesday in the northern Attican town of Oropos on foot of an arrest warrant, police have said.
Some years ago, the two men were sentenced in absentia to 3 years' and 9 months' imprisonment, respectively, for an incident in 2019 in which they assaulted police at a campsite in Evia.

Athens to Evia trains gradually returning to normal

Athens police make arrest over July 13 attack on masonic lodge
Police in Athens have arrested a 61-year-old man who may have links to the far-right, in connection with an attack with a small makeshift bomb in the city center on July 13.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the suspect was identified from CCTV footage by investigators looking into the attack on a masonic lodge on downtown Acharnon Street that caused some damage but no injuries.
Teen arrested after shooting teacher with air gun
Police in eastern Attica have arrested a 17-year-old student, as well as his parents, on suspicion of shooting his teacher in the leg with an air gun.
During the break at a vocational school in Oropos, the accused suddenly pulled out an air pistol and shot his 36-year-old teacher in the left leg.

The mayor of the East Attica town of Oropos has expressed regret over an incident concerning the treatment of a troubled 69-year-old resident by the crew of a private ambulance service working for the municipality, describing the incident "like something from the Middle Ages."
