The Border Checkpoints through which the “Green Corridors” Border for Supply of Goods will Pass are now Clear

The Council of Ministers has defined the border points on Bulgarian territory through which unobstructed passage of commodities will be ensured. The plan for securing "green corridors" along the European road network has been proposed by the Minister for Transport, Information Technology and Communications. It complies with the guidelines of the European Commission of 16 March 2020.

5km Queue of Trucks at Kapitan Andreevo Border Checkpoint

On the Bulgarian-Turkish border, there is a 5km queue of cargo vehicles at Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint, Chief Directorate Border Police said, quoted by bTV.

At the Bulgarian-Serbian border at Kalotina border checkpoint and on the Bulgarian-Greek border at Kulata border checkpoint, the traffic is intensive by trucks leaving the country.

Car Accident on the Burgas-Varna Road

Car crash on the Varna-Burgas road in the area of the village of Staro Oryahovo hampered the traffic in both directions, the Varna police reported.

The incident took place at 11.15 am about a kilometer before Staro Oryahovo in the direction of Varna. According to the initial data, four cars were involved in the accident, three citizens were taken to the hospital.

Network of Electric Bicycles to Connect Bulgaria, Romania

A network of electric bicycles will connect Bulgaria and Romania.

The network will be developed in the Bulgarian-Romanian cross-border region under a project financed by the Interreg programme.

Each tourist will be able to rent an electric bicycle for the duration of three hours and to explore the tourist sites along the two banks of the Danube river.

EU Funding is Available for Bulgarian Gas Hub Construction, Minister Petkova says

Our idea for the construction of a gas hub is likely to become a reality. However, in order for us to be able to apply for EU funding, the three Bulgarian projects need to be considered as ventures of common interest.

The statement was made by Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova at the regular sitting of the Energy Commission to the National Assembly.

Bulgaria's Border Police Arrests 41 Syrians At Crossing With Romania

Bulgaria's border police arrested 41 Syrians at the Danube Bridge border crossing with Romania for illegally trying to leave the country, reports Vesti.bg.

They were found early on Thursday morning hiding in a truck with Turkish plates. The Turkish driver was also arrested.

Danube Bridge 3 to Cost EUR 200 – 270 M

The construction of a third bridge over the Danube River is to cost EUR 200 – 270 M, according to feasibility studies conducted at four places where it could be built.

Elean Gagov, expert at the Ministry of Regional Development, explained Monday that the option of building a rail line and its price tag were to be discussed in the second stage of the studies.
