Second 'Tortoise Trainer' at Türkiye İş Bankası Museum
Turkish painter Osman Hamdi Bey's second "The Tortoise Trainer" has been included in the permanent exhibition titled "Viewing Turkish Painting" at Türkiye İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum in Istanbul's Beyoğlu.
This second work of the artist with the same theme, dated 1907, is now neighbor to the first version, dated 1906, exhibited at the Pera Museum.
Osman Hamdi painting to go on display in NY
As part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Turkish Republic, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will organize the 100th Anniversary Gala event on Oct. 25, with an exhibition featuring Turkish painter Osman Hamdi Bey's painting "Girl Reading the Qur'an" and artwork from Burhan Doğançay's "Ribbons" series.

Head of Eros reunites with its sarcophagus
Discovered 140 years ago and taken to England from Türkiye, the Eros Head was put in its place at the Istanbul Archaeology Museum as a result of the initiatives of the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
The artifact, which was brought to Türkiye on June 10, was reunited with the historical Sidamara Sarcophagus to which it belonged.

Istanbul's Pera Museum will continue welcoming art lovers from abroad as its doors will be open for foreign visitors amid a weekend lockdown in Turkey.
In a statement, the museum said that as part of the new measures taken against the pandemic, a curfew is imposed on weekends, while excluding foreign tourists.
