Greek police bust large drug network

Greek police have dismantled an 11-member drug trafficking ring in the prefect of Ilia in the Peloponnese. The gang had set up a delivery network transporting large amounts of narcotics, including cocaine and marijuana over the past six months in Amaliada and Athens. The suspects included 10 Albanian nationals aged between 22 and 40 and a 30-year-old Greek.

Thessaloniki police nab drug trafficking gang

A total of 10 suspected members of a drug trafficking ring in Thessaloniki were arrested on Saturday in the northern city.

The 10 suspects arrested in the crackdown are believed to include the two ring leaders.

According to a police investigation, the racket has been dealing drugs, chiefly cocaine, across the country, but mainly in Thessaloniki, since the summer of 2015.

Man arrested at airport after swallowing cocaine

A 39-year-old Nigerian national was arrested at Athens International Airport on Friday as he attempted to smuggle sachets containing cocaine which he had swallowed.

The man was apprehended upon arrival to Athens on a flight from Amsterdam via Zurich.

Police said the man had swallowed 29 sachets containing 340 grams of cocaine.

Drug-filled condoms found in man's stomach in Istanbul airport

Police in Istanbul have seized one kilogram of drug-filled condoms found in a man's stomach at Istanbul's Atatürk International Airport after obtaining information gathered on drug smugglers, Doğan News Agency has reported.  

Police on Jan. 24 detained the 45-year-old Ecuadorian man, Alfredo Demeceo, in the airport, but could not draw conclusions after initial searches. 

Police bust cocaine and cannabis dealing gang

The Greek Police (ELAS) on Tuesday announced the arrest of 10 suspects believed to belong to a large drug-trafficking ring.

Authorities seized 173 kilograms of unprocessed cannabis and nearly 300 grams of cocaine that had not yet been diluted for sale during raids conducted in different parts of the Greek capital and in Ioannina in northwestern Greece, ELAS said in a press release.

Two Brazilians stopped at Athens Airport with 2.2 kilograms of cocaine

Police at Athens International Airport on Monday detained two Brazilian nationals, a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, after determining that they had swallowed small packages of cocaine weighing more than 2 kilograms.

The two suspects arrived in Athens on a flight from Sao Paolo via Zurich.

Two Brazilians arrested at Athens Airport for cocaine smuggling

Greek police arrested a Brazilian couple for attempting to smuggle 2,240 grams of cocaine through the ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ Athens International Airport. The 24-year-old man and his 27-year-old female co-traveler, who landed in Athens from a Zurich flight, were caught after Greek authorities discovered they had hidden the drugs in 212 plastic bags, which they had swallowed.
