The Syrian Parliament Recognized the Armenian Genocide
The Syrian parliament has officially recognized the genocide killing of about 1.5 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1917, France Press reported.
The agency notes that this has come amid heightened tensions with Turkey following the bloody clashes in northwestern Syria.

Ottoman daily found inside wall of Dolmabahçe Palace
Newspaper fragments from 1917 were found inside the wall plaster during a restoration work at the Dolmabahçe Palace's Süfera Salonu (the Ambassador's Hall) in Istanbul on Jan. 23.
The newspapers were used as filling materials during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Mehmed Reşad in 1909-1918.
Ottoman conquest of Istanbul to be focus of Netflix’s new Turkish series
The period of the rise of the Ottoman Empire will be the center of the new Netflix series "Rise of Empires: Ottoman."
The series will focus on the period of the conquest of Istanbul and the rule of Ottoman Emperor Mehmet II, who conquered the city from the Byzantines in 1453.

The Last Emperor (Payitaht: Abdulhamid) -- a Turkish TV series about the life of Abdul Hamid II, the 34th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire -- has drawn a broad international audience, especially in the Middle East and the Balkans.

Ottoman writings exhibited at South African university
Descendants of prominent Ottoman scholars and activists have donated Ottoman manuscripts, documents and rare books written in Afrikaans using the Arabic script to the University of Cape Town (UCT), with the documents clearly indicating an early link between Turkey and South Africa.
Ottoman manuscripts at Istanbul exhibition
The Istanbul Research Institute's new exhibition "Memories of Humankind: Stories from the Ottoman Manuscripts," which opened on Oct. 18, brings up the Ottoman manuscript culture which gradually lost its importance as the printing press became widespread in the 19th century.

The Directorate of State Achieves under the Turkish Presidency last year classified 7 million archive documents covering the period from the beginning of the Ottoman history to today.
