Mount Everest’s famous Hillary Step destroyed, mountaineers confirm
A famous feature of Mount Everest has collapsed, potentially making the world’s highest peak even more dangerous to climbers.
Mountaineers said the Hillary Step may have fallen victim to Nepal’s devastating 2015 earthquake.
The near-vertical 12m (39ft) rocky outcrop stood on the mountain’s southeast ridge, and was the last great challenge before the top.
Spear-fisherman's body found in Evia after going missing in Pilio
The body of a spear-fisherman who had been missing for four days was found off Vassilika in Evia on Saturday.
The 33-year-old man had gone fishing off the coast of southern Pilio but it appears that currents carried his body south to Evia, where it was discovered by a fishing boat.

World free diving female champion Derya Can has broken a Guinness World Record with a 120-meter horizontal apnea dive in an ice-covered lake.
Holding her breath under the 35-centimeter ice-coated Weissensee lake in Austria, Can managed to swim 120 meters in 1 minute 47 seconds.

Spearfisherman injured by boat off Myconos
A 36-year-old man was recovering in a clinic on the island of Myconos yesterday after a boat hit him while he was spearfishing between the coast of Myconos and Delos.
According to the local coast guard, the diver had taken all the necessary precautions to alert others to his presence.

Bulgarian Becomes First Vegan to Ascend Eighth Highest Peak in World
Bulgarian mountaineer Atanas Skatov became on Thursday the first vegan to have ascended the eighth highest peak in the world - the 8163-metre Manaslu in the Himalayas.
Skatov also became the second Bulgarian to have ascended the peak after Boyan Petrov climbed it a day earlier on Wednesday.

84-year-old Penka Baleva, a Bulgarian woman, is now an idol for young bungee jumpers, an Austrian daily has said.
On Saturday Baleva plunged off the famous 192-m-high Europabrücke (Europe Bridge) in Tirol, one of the world's landmarks for bungee lovers.

Bulgarian Sets World Record for Deepest Saltwater Scuba Dive for Women
The Bulgarian Ina Dimitrova set a world record for the deepest scuba dive in saltwater for women.
Dimitrova descended to a depth of 201 metres during a training dive in the Red Sea on Tuesday, private bTV station reports.
Thus, the Bulgarian became the second woman to reach a depth of more than 200 metres.
Woman in France dies in Bungee-jumping accident
A 28-year-old French woman has died in a freak bungee jumping accident in northern France. The woman leaped from a 60-meter crane with her boyfriend when, according to French police the harness malfunctioned. Her boyfriend is currently in the nearby hospital of Lille but the severity of his injuries are unknown. An investigation by French police has been launched.
