UN say leaders need to reflect on the situation created

 

Following Espen Barth Eide, Stephane Dujarric the Secretary-General’s representative in New York also sent a message to the two leaders in Cyprus repeating that they need to reflect on the situation created, clearly indicating that they would be the ones to decide on the next steps regarding the Cyprus issue.

The Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with the Cyprus President Nikos Anastasiades in Brussels on Thursday.

They talked mainly about the draft document of Espen Barth Eide, UN Secretary General Special Adviser on Cyprus, and the coordination of Athens and Nicosia ahead of the Cyprus summit.

Small blast at British station in Cyprus, criminal motive seen

A small explosion occurred outside a police station at a British base in Cyprus early on Tuesday, authorities said, adding it was being treated as a criminal investigation.

British base authorities said one police officer suffered "very minor injuries" and there was superficial damage to the entrance of the station at Dhekelia, known as the Eastern Sovereign Base Area.
