Istanbul Opera Festival kicks off

The 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival will start with the "7 Tenor" concert at Haliç Congress Center Open Air Stage on July 16. The event will feature four major opera works and a concert to be staged by the Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Directorates until July 30. All works within the scope of the festival will be staged at 9 p.m.

Within the scope of Academy Festival Istanbul and with the contributions of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Department, the city is getting ready to host a never-seen-before festival called the Istanbul International Chamber Music Festival to bring fresh vibes to the city and elevate the cultural and artistic life.

The 12th International Istanbul Opera Festival will be held from July 1 to July 11 in the garden of Istanbul Archaeological Museums.

Organized by the Turkish State Opera and Ballet, the festival will kick off with the "Gala Concert," where 15 soloists will take the stage.

Erdoğan inaugurates Çamlıca communications tower

Turkey's president inaugurated the state-of-the-art Çamlıca TV-Radio Tower in Istanbul on May 29.

Situated on a hill overlooking Turkey's largest city, the hi-tech communications tower will fulfill all broadcasting and transmission requirements in Istanbul.

It has the capacity to air 100 FM radio broadcasts at the same time- a first in the world.

Kanal Istanbul will bring Turkey greater peace: Erdoğan

The Kanal Istanbul mega-project will result in greater peace of mind for the Turkish nation, said Turkey's president on April 14.

"The Kanal Istanbul project, which has nothing to do with the Montreux Convention, will bring Turkey greater comfort and peace," said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, referring to a 1936 agreement on the Turkish Straits, also in the Istanbul province.
