Long-eared owls provide ecological balance in a village in the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray they inhabit as they eat rats in fields.
Four years ago, there were only four eagles, but today, their number stands at 200. The owls, which villagers try to feed, has become a picturesque scene for photography aficionados.
Short-eared owl spotted in Tunceli
A short-eared forest owl, whose population is shrinking, has been photographed in the Ovacık district of the eastern province of Tunceli. The owl, which is active at night and hunts small bird species and mice to eat, was seen close to a settlement area in Pulur neighborhood before it disappeared.

A rare "fish owl" has been released into the wild in the southern province of Mersin after being treated for nine months for a broken wing.
Wild animals released after treatment in Burdur
