President Pahor holds talks on ways to revive social dialogue

Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor received on Thursday chair of the Economic and Social Council Mitja Gorenšček to talk about reviving social dialogue. On the latter’s initiative, Pahor will host in the second half of August an informal talk with representatives of the government, employers and trade unions to look for ways to continue the dialogue.

Ceremony at Russian Chapel to mark Slovenia-Russia Friendship Day

Ljubljana – In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Slovenian president Borut Pahor and Russian president Vladimir Putin agreed to declare the day of the ceremony at the Russian Chapel at Vršič as Slovenia-Russia Friendship Day, said Pahor’s office.

Pahor discusses plastic-free world with Rotary International head

Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor received Rotary International president Holger Knaack in Ljubljana on Monday. The pair discussed efforts for a plastic-free world. They talked about the adijoplastenka.si. initiative, launched by Rotary Slovenija, which aims to make Slovenia the world’s first country with no single-use plastic bottles in five years.

Appeals for vaccination as WHO regional director visits Slovenia

Ljubljana – WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge was received by President Borut Pahor and Health Minister Janez Poklukar as he arrived in Slovenia on Wednesday. In a press statement, they all stressed the importance of vaccination and warned of the rapid spread of the Delta variant in view of the resurgence of infections.

President says fundamental EU values should be understood the same way

Pahor makes case for rapid EU enlargement to Western Balkans

Ohrid – President Borut Pahor made a case for the EU’s rapid enlargement to Western Balkans as he addressed the Prespa Forum Dialogue on Friday, arguing that this was in the interest of the EU and would strengthen the bloc as well as the region.

The president said continued enlargement was instrumental to the stability and prosperity of Western Balkans.
