Access to the central building of the National Palace of Culture will be limited on April 10 and 11 (Tuesday and Wednesday). The measure is due to security concerns about high-end events in the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Istanbul’s former seat for Ottoman sultans Topkapı Palace has been saved from getting zoned for construction. The decision, made by the Cultural Heritage Conservation High Council, allows the palace to keep its “first-degree” archeological site status following an ongoing debate. 

Culture Minister: 'The Future of the National Palace of Culture is Stable'

''The delay in the repair of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) is not fatal - the future of the Palace is stable'', said the Culture Minister Boil Banov acoording to BTV.

''Although the deadline for completion of the repair works by September 20 could not be met'', the minister said, ''everything will be ready before the end of the year''.

The Topkapi Palace is on the verge of collapse due to ongoing archaeological excavations and studies that are bringing Roman and Byzantine finds to light, according to Turkish media. The Turkish media report that slits started appearing in the walls of the Ottoman Palace, which was the Royal residence for the sultans in Constantinople for 400 years.
