West Bank economy in tatters as Gaza war rages

In the occupied West Bank, Hafeth Ghazawneh waits in quiet frustration for customers to visit his falafel stall, which has been deserted since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks in Israel.

His breakfast and lunch offerings were popular with craftsmen from workshops near Al-Bireh, the twin city of Ramallah, before the Israel-Hamas war broke out.

"Representatives of the PRCS received 4,760 trucks with which humanitarian aid was delivered to the people of the enclave from Egypt between October 21 and December 22," according to the statement, TASS reports.
It is added that the humanitarian aid mainly included food, medicine and drinking water.

At Least 100 Killed In Gaza In 24 Hours

At least 100 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, according to figures from the Palestinian Authority in the enclave. The military action comes amid growing international pressure on Israel for a ceasefire and calls inside the country to resume talks to free the hostages kidnapped by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas on October 7.

Israel bombs Gaza as rift with US grows

Israel bombed Gaza on Thursday as a top White House advisor was due to arrive in Jerusalem with a rift growing over U.S. calls for its ally to exercise restraint.

The war has left besieged Gaza in ruins, killing more than 18,600 people, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run health ministry, and devastating homes, roads, schools and hospitals.
