Bulgarian soccer fan run over by car in Thessaloniki after clashes

One Bulgarian soccer fan was killed in Thessaloniki during clashes between rival supporters, while two more fans got injured, police in the northern city reported on Sunday.

Fighting among rival fans broke out in central Thessaloniki one day after the Aris vs PAOK soccer derby on Saturday evening and a few hours before Sunday's PAOK vs Aris basketball match.

Police ban rallies in Athens ahead of soccer cup final

Greek police have banned public rallies in central Athens between 6 p.m. on Thursday and 6 a.m. on Sunday as part of security measures ahead of the Greek Cup Final between AEK and PAOK soccer clubs at the Olympic Stadium of Athens (OAKA) on Saturday.
Officials announced on Monday that the match will be played behind closed doors.

PAOK fans celebrate Greek league title

Supporters of soccer club PAOK Salonica celebrate in central Thessaloniki on Sunday night after winning the league title for the first time in 34 years. PAOK, owned by Greek-Russian oligarch Ivan Savvidis, were crowned champions after beating already relegated Levadiakos 5-0 in the penultimate round of the Super League.

Second consecutive volleyball cup for PAOK

Champion PAOK added another volleyball trophy to its collection on Saturday as it won the Greek Cup beating Iraklis in the final held on Crete.

PAOK came from behind to beat league leader Olympiakos 3-1 in Friday's semifinal before Iraklis saw off Foinikas Syrou 3-2 in the other semi at the Cup's Final Four held for the first time at Ierapetra.
