Red Devils parachutist saved by colleague mid-jump (Video)

A parachutist from the “Red Devils” had a close brush with death when his parachute failed to deploy completely.

 

The Whitehaven Air Show in Cumbria, Northwestern England , played host to a terrifying experience, but thankfully, another member of the team managed to cover the space between the two parachutists and save his fellow.

 

 

NASA 'flying saucer' deploys partially on test

NASA launched a giant balloon June 8  carrying a kind of "flying saucer" that will test technologies for landing on Mars, but its outsized parachute only partly deployed.

The aircraft fitted with the largest parachute ever constructed -- after several days of weather-related delays -- was launched from a military base in Hawaii.

Nine members of the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK), including its chairman, Osman Yıldırım, were detained in an operation in Ankara on Oct. 28 over fraud allegations.

Yıldırım and other officials are accused of leaking confidential information about the project for a maiden light airplane manufactured in Turkey, the Türkkuşu.

Ölüdeniz air games take off

Turkey’s biggest air sports festival kicked off in the Mediterranean town of Fethiye’s Ölüdeniz with paragliders from around the world participating in the event.

Around 500 air sports enthusiasts from 40 countries are competing in various disciplines at the 15th Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival, which is held every October.
