Hristian Stoyanov brought the second medal for Bulgaria from the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. After Ruzhdi Ruzhdi won a silver medal in the shot put in the F55 category yesterday, this night Stoyanov also grabbed the silver in the 1500 m in the T46 class, BNR reported.

Turkey's Recep Çiftçi bagged a bronze medal in men's Judo at 60kg, defeating Marcos Dennis Blanco of Colombia at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games on Aug. 27, scoring Turkey's first medal at the Games.

The Turkish judoka dominated the contest in Tokyo, winning it 10-1.

The Tokyo Paralympics opened on Tuesday (Aug 24) in a near empty stadium after a year-long delay, as Japan struggles with its worst Covid-19 outbreak so far, record daily cases and an overwhelmed medical system.

Team Romania to the Tokyo Paralympic Games (24 August - 5 September) will be made up of 7 athletes, who will compete in table tennis, judo, athletics, cycling and archery, their goal being to win three medals, the vice-president of the National Paralympic Committee, Ciprian Anton, told AGERPRES.

Turkey's National Para Athletics Team won three medals on Feb. 10 at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai. 

The Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled said in a statement that Hamide Doğangün claimed the gold in the women's 800-meter race with 1.56.60 while Zeynep Acet clinched a silver medal with 2.14.84 in the same event.
