Virus on wane, tourists want to come back to Turkey: FM

Germans and Russians want to come back to visit Turkey, in part thanks to its skillful handling of the coronavirus pandemic, now on the wane, Turkey's foreign minister said on May 23. 
Appearing on television in Antalya, Turkey's popular Mediterranean resort, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said the country is working towards restarting tourism.

International community showing Turkey’s healthcare system as model: FM

The international community, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States, is showing Turkey as a model as its health care system is strong enough to meet the treatment requirements of its citizens, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on May 6.

Turkey repatriates 1,286 nationals over virus

Turkey brought back a total of 1,286 of its nationals from four African nations and Arab countries on April 26 as part of its ongoing repatriation efforts for Ramadan amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Some 207 Turkish nationals returning from Somalia and Djibouti on a special Turkish Airlines flight arrived at Turkey's Nevşehir-Kapadokya Airport.

Ankara urges int'l community to aid Syrians amid virus

Turkey's foreign minister urged the international community on April 14 to aid Syrians amid diminishing relief efforts because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking at a virtual conference by the Atlantic Council in Turkey and Turkish Heritage Organization, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said Turkey is the main source of aid and the pandemic is making efforts "more difficult" in Syria.
