Rescued wild animals safe in Antalya
The wild animals that are forbidden to be sold and seized by the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) are living safely in the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Zoo and Nature Park, where they were brought after being seized.

Crafty cockatoos master dumpster diving and teach each other
A few years ago, a Sydney scientist noticed a sulfur-crested cockatoo opening his trash bin. Not every resident would be thrilled, but ornithologist Richard Major was impressed by the ingenuity.
It's quite a feat for a bird to grasp a bin lid with its beak, pry it open, then shuffle far enough along the bin's edge that the lid falls backward, revealing edible trash treasures inside.

A number of animals that were illegally smuggled into Turkey were seized by police as part of an anti-smuggling operation in Istanbul on June 8.
Forestry and Water Affairs Ministry's Directorate of Nature Protection and National Parks recently received information about a suspect who allegedly brought rare animals into Turkey from abroad.

The vehicle was on its way out of the town when it was discovered.
