Turkey gets 95,373 trademark applications in 1st half of 2021

The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TurkPatent) received 95,373 trademark applications in the first half of 2021, official figures showed on July 26. 

Of those, 87,919, or 92.2%, were domestic, according to a TurkPatent report.

The office received 8,101 patent applications during the same period - 3,570 domestic and 4,531 foreign.

Wholesale business up 2.8 pct per gross series January through October 2020

Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), in nominal terms, increased in the first 10 months of this year compared to the similar period in 2019, both as a gross series and as a series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 2.8 pct and 2.1 pct, respectively.

The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TurkPatent) received 36,838 trademark applications- 32,877 of them domestic- in the first three months of the current year, official figures showed on April 20. 

The number of trademark applications increased 14% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020, according to the TurkPatent data.

A Bulgarian invented a watch capable of translating a word in two seconds with the accuracy of translation being 97 %.

The device can translate without being connected to any network, private bTV station informs.

The whole life of Vladimir Ichevski has been dedicated to the watch, which took him 23 years to invent, costing him his family, property and career.
