The head of the Greek Orthodox Church in Africa, Patriarch Theodore II, has expressed concern about the rising threat of terrorism in the region after Islamic State militants murdered more than 20 Ethiopian Christians.

BELGRADE - Patriarch Irinej and bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church wished all believers who celebrate the biggest Christian holiday, Easter, according to the Julian calendar that it may bring them faith, hope, love and eternal life.

The Armenian Patriarchate in Turkey has established a foundation under the name "Hovagim 1461," in order to formally acquire a legal personality.

The foundation is named after the first Armenian patriarchate Hovagim and the date when he was appointed to his position.

Pope Francis will be visiting Turkey this weekend. This will be his sixth trip outside of Italy after he became pope in 2013. The fact that Turkey ranks among the first countries that Pope Francis is visiting already tells us a lot.
