Pazardzhik Province

 A second outbreak of African swine fever has been registered in Alabak State Forest Enterprise, Pazardzhik Regional Governor Stefan Mirev said after a meeting of the Regional Epizootic Commission, Focus Radio - Pazardzhik reported.

The highest red fire hazard code is in place for three municipalities today, according to NIMH.

The index is valid for territories in the districts of Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik and Plovdiv. This degree of danger means that very strong fires with involvement of tree crowns are possible.

An earthquake with 2.3 magnitude on the Richter scale has been registered on the territory of Bulgaria, in the Pazardzhik region.

The earthquake was felt at 9.32 am this morning with an epicentre 5 km south of Pazardzhik, in the village of Glavinitsa and 101 km southeast of Sofia, with a depth of 2 km. No material damage is reported.

Two boys have fallen from a railway junction near the village of Mokrishte, which is located near the southern Bulgaria town Pazardzhik. They were taken to hospital urgently, according to a police report.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov made an inspection of the Pazardzhik station's reception building. It is financed under the Operational Program "Transport" amounting to BGN 3.63 million, of which BGN 3.085 million are from the EU. Pazardzhik Station was completed in 9 months from January to September 2014. Before the start of the project, 231,000 passengers a year passed through the station.

A woman is at risk for her life after a tree fell on a car on the Pazardzhik-Belovo road. This was announced by the ODMWP-Pazardzhik spokesman Miroslav Stoyanov.
 

Significant cloud today with rainfall in many places, at altitudes above 1,000 m - snow. Larger amounts of rain are expected in Southwest Bulgaria, while in the Rila-Rhodope region additional snow will accumulate. In Eastern Bulgaria and in parts of the northern slopes of the Balkan Mountain Range there will be moderate to strong wind from south.

New precipitation beginning from southwest this morning will spread into the eastern regions by the evening. Snowfall is forecast in most of North Bulgaria and in the mountainous regions, rain in South Bulgaria and on the seacoast. The atmospheric pressure, much lower than the average for January, will further decrease. Light to moderate wind from east-northeast.

Code orange weather alert is in place for 5 districts in Bulgaria on 24th of January. Meteorologists warn that heavy rain is expected in the districts of Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Smolyan and Kardzhali. Snow is forecast for the mountains, reports BNT. 

Today the rainfall will continue in many areas of the country, wet snow in the northwestern regions, meteorologist Hristo Hristov, National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, told Focus News Agency. Considerable amounts of rain are expected in the southwestern half of the country.
