Technical Issues Halt Truck Traffic at Bulgaria-Turkey Border
Problems with the border system on the Turkish side have stopped the movement of trucks leaving Bulgaria through the Kapitan Andreevo-Kapikule border crossing, the Road Infrastructure Agency says.

Seven Bulgarian regions have been placed under a Code Yellow warning over heavy showers on Tuesday, the national weather service has said.

Bulgarian Authorities Detain 23 Illegal Migrants on Trakia Motorway
Police officers from the Bulgarian village of Lesichovo in the region of Pazardzhik detained 23 illegal migrants on Trakia motorway on Thursday.
The group was detected in the area between the interchange at the village of Kalugerovo and the overpass for the village of Shtarkovo.

Plovdiv Court to Sit on Strelcha Mayor Case after 15 Judges Withdraw
The district court in Bulgaria's second-biggest city Plovdiv is to launch the case against Ivan Evstatiev, the mayor of the town of Strelcha who is facing rape charges.
The case was assigned to Plovdiv by Bulgaria's last-instance judicial institution, the Supreme Court of Cassation (VKS), after 15 judges in a row withdrew from the Pazardzhik District Court.
Court Leaves ex-Mayor Charged with Rape under Arrest
A regional court in Panagyurishte (Central Bulgaria) ruled on Tuesday that Ivan Evstatiev, the former mayor of the town of Strelcha should remain in custody.
Evstatiev is charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl, and the court believes there is evidence he could hide or commit another crime.

Bulgarian Cabinet Allocates BGN 14 M for Natural Disaster Relief
The Bulgarian government allocated BGN 14 M for addressing the consequences of the heavy snowfall and floods in the past months.
This was decided at the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, the government's press service reports.
