Ex-mayor gets 15 years for fraud
A former mayor of the island of Elafonisos, off the southern coast of the Peloponnese, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Kalamata Appeals Court after being found guilty on multiple counts of fraud involving public funds.

Jobless in Greece over 1 million, ELSTAT says
The aggregate of employed people is estimated at a little over 3,6 million, a 0.9% rise in comparison to March 2016. The number of non working population (people without a job and not seeking work) amounts to 3,270,865, a 0.2% increase compared to March 2016 and February 2017.

Aerial dancer hovers over Corinth Canal
Greek aerial dancer Katerina Soldatou is seen performing at the Corinth Canal that separates the Peloponnese from mainland Greece, as part of her "Greece Has Soul" project on Tuesday. The Lefkada-born dancer has said she wants to highlight the country's natural beauties through a project that weds Greek landmarks with music, image and aerial dance.

Greek navy helicopter transports patient on cruise ship to hospital
A Greek navy helicopter transported a patient on board a cruise ship who was in need of medical assistance to the Kalamata airport. An Aegean Hawk type S70B collected the man from the Maltese cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 3 Sea Hawk and transferred him to the Kalamata airport where he was picked by the an ambulance.
