Parliament approves draft law for establishment of joint Turkish-Japanese university
A draft law aiming to establish the Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University in Istanbul, in line with a previously signed agreement between the two countries, has been passed in the Turkish Parliament.

The head of the Istanbul Third Heavy Penal Court, identified only by the initials H.A., was detained after Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Fehmi Tosun launched an investigation upon receiving a tip off from a lawyer.
49 ISIL suspects detained in Istanbul for 'preparing for referendum attacks'
Police on April 15 detained 49 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspects allegedly planning a "sensational" act of terror ahead of the constitutional referendum. The suspects, including 41 foreign nationals, were taken into custody during simultaneous raids in seven districts including Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Fatih, Esenyurt, Kartal, Küçükçekmece and Pendik, a security source said.
Huge anti-narcotics, anti-terror police operation launched in Istanbul
A large-scale operation with the participation of 2,000 police officers from anti-narcotics and anti-terror teams was launched in Istanbul on the morning of March 23.
Checkpoints were established in parts of the city for the operation, called "Kurtkapanı-2," which means Wolf Creek in Turkish.

Regulation to be introduced to control short-term rentals in Turkey
