In a troubling incident, the death of ex-Bulgarian wrestling champion Plamen Penev has raised serious concerns. Reports suggest that Penev suffocated during an arrest in Stara Zagora, allegedly due to excessive force applied by law enforcement officers.

The 36 drivers from a Plovdiv transport company who were rescued from the ferry are already traveling to Bulgaria by bus from Igoumenitsa. The transport is provided by their employer. The Bulgarian consul in Thessaloniki has guaranteed that all those left without documents will be able to cross the border without any problems.

CSKA Sofia have hired former Bulgaria boss Lubo Penev as their new coach to replace Nestor El Maestro, who left the job by mutual consent, the Bulgarian club said on Friday, reports Reuters. 

The 52-year-old Penev, one of the Balkan country's soccer icons, began his third spell at his former club CSKA after signing a one-and-a-half-year contract.

Sofia Prosecutor's Office has started an investigation against former Sofia District Governor Veselin Penev over the Tsarski konyushni deal.

The government has dismissed Veselin Penev as Sofia District Governor. The position will be taken over temporarily by Zhivka Takeva - Parvanova. She is currently Deputy Sofia District Governor. She will occupy the post until a permanent Governor is appointed.
