At least 50 killed in attack at Catholic Church in Nigeria
The attack took place during a Pentecost Sunday service at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo
Pharmacies shut, stores open on Monday for Pentecost holiday
Pharmacies around Attica will be shut on Monday due to the Pentecost holiday but shops will remain open, their respective associations said on Friday.
According to the Attica Pharmacists Association, only duty pharmacies will be open.
World Music Festival | Tinos | June 2-4
The annual Tinos World Music Festival returns for a fifth edition on the Pentecost holiday weekend from Friday, June 2, to Sunday, June 4. This year, the focus of the festival will be on guitars and other string instruments, with artists such as Dimitris Lappas, George Dinakos and Enver Izmailov slated to appear on the first night.

The Day of the Holy Spirit… a public holiday for some!
The Monday after Pentecost is the holiday of the Holy Spirit. This year, it coincides with the start of June. In Greece, the day is a public holiday for white-collar workers so, banks and schools are shut though retail stores are open. Hairdressers and barbers are closed, possibly because the spirit is in the head.
Tageszeitung: Bankruptcy a ‘set up’ so Greece implements reforms
The German newspaper Tageszeitung on Thursday headlined an article reading: “Eight days until Greek bankruptcy, the countdown has begun, this time for real”.
“Brussels in the Greek fever once more. Bankruptcy forewarned for weeks (…) did not come over Easter or Pentecost, all eyes are now on June 5th”.
Road traffic down by 25-30 percent over Pentecost holiday
The number of drivers on Greeces roads was considerably lower over the Pentecost holiday this past long weekend compared to the previous year, according to data from Athens-Lamia and Athens-Corinth national highway toll stations.
Meanwhile, road traffic police set up extra security measures on Monday in view of motorists making their way back to the capital.
