Sailor found dead in ship cabin in Perama
A 35-year-old seaman, member of the crew of a Maltese-flagged cargo ship docked at the Perama shipyard repair zone, was found hanged in his cabin on Wednesday, Piraeus Central Port Authority said.
The man, a foreign national who worked as kitchen cleaner, was transferred to the General Hospital of Nikea where doctors confirmed his death.

Second arrest in relation to deadly car chase
Police have made a second arrest in relation to Monday's deadly car chase in which a policeman lost his life in the western Athenian suburb of Nikaia.
The 29-year-old police officer died after his motorcycle collided with a patrol car during a pursuit of suspected car thieves.

Fatal accident prompts strike at Perama Ship Repair Zone
Workers at the Perama Ship Repair Zone, situated northwest of the Piraeus port, have initiated a fresh 24-hour strike on Wednesday in response to a fatal accident that took place on Tuesday. Greek broadcaster ANT1 said the two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Dimokratia Avenue and Dagli Street, as a woman driving in the opposite lane veered off course, smashing into the man's car travelling in the other direction.

A 15-year-old teenager who jumped into the sea at the port of Perama, western Attica, to avoid being captured by officers looking for two theft suspects was found hidden at the pier.
The incident unfolded shortly after midnight on Wednesday during a police chase, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.
