These days, you can watch a Broadway musical from a subway train seat. You can get your stage fix at your local movie theater or hear a play while jogging. Theater just isn't what it used to be.

The İzmir International Puppet Days, which started as a small festival in İzmir in 2007, will present 44 different shows from 24 countries to puppet lovers of all ages on its 13th edition.

The ballet "Three Musketeers," performed by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB), will be staged in Istanbul for the first time.

It took three-and-a-half months for conductor and composer Bujor Hoinic to start the production of the opera "Troy" from scratch and complete it. "Troy" is gearing up to become one of the most important productions of Turkey's State Opera and Ballet (DOB) this year.

In "New Piece 1: Since She," at the Onassis Cultural Center, acclaimed Greek choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou pays tribute to Pina Bausch nine years after her death, with a series of wonderful tableux vivants referencing landmark works by the German dance legend, accompanied by music by Verdi, Mahler, Wagner, Prokofiev and Tom Waits.
