Every weapon obtained by the People's Protection Units (YPG) constitutes a threat to Turkey, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on May 10, emphasizing Ankara's opposition to a U.S. deal to arming Syrian Kurdish fighters in the battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Deadly ISIL bomb attack suspect threatens families of victims in hearing in Ankara

A suspect in a case into a deadly Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) twin suicide bomb attack case has threatened the families of victims during a hearing held in the capital Ankara. 

Metin Akaltın, one of the suspects in the Oct. 10, 2015 ISIL attack case, wagged his finger at the families as a gesture of threat in the third hearing of the case on May 3. 

Police foil car bomb plot in Turkey's Suruç, assailant 'neutralized'

An assailant who was plotting a car bomb attack in the Suruç district of the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa was "neutralized" by security forces on April 21, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Police in the district police headquarters opened fire on a suspected bomb-laden car after it refused to obey stop calls in the evening hours.

Court arrests ISIL militant in charge of media in Istanbul

A total of 12 militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were arrested in Istanbul on April 21. 

The militants, who were previously detained as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Terror and Organized Crime Prosecutor Ufuk Can Gazezoğlu, include an ISIL militant in charge of media.
