Sakarya Gas Field contract awarded to consortium

International oilfield services company Schlumberger announced on Oct. 15 a significant contract award by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO or TP) for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of end-to-end production solutions for the Sakarya Gas Field, Turkey's largest gas reserve.

Turkey poised to become LNG bunkering hub with new tri-party agreement

Turkey is on its way to becoming a key hub for LNG supplies with cooperation from Turkey's largest public institution in the areas of energy, trade, transportation and storage, BOTAŞ, along with Arkas Bunkering and Sumitomo Corporation, according to Turkey's BOTAŞ on Sept. 8.

Nigerian LNG vessel arrives in Turkey

Nigeria's LNG carrier, LNG Abuja II, reached Turkey on Aug. 23, according to the latest ship tracking data.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 170,000 cubic meters, left Nigeria's port of Bonny on Aug. 9 and arrived at its final destination, the Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Terminal on Aug. 23 at 03.41 local time.

Algerian LNG vessel arrives in Turkey

Algerian energy company Hyproc Shipping's LNG carrier, Lalla Fatma N'Soumer, reached Turkey on July 9, according to ship-tracking data.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 144,888 cubic meters, left Algeria's port of Arzew on July 2 and arrived at its final destination, the Aliaga LNG terminal on July 9 at 21.00 local time.

The ship is sailing under the Bahamas flag.

Turkey’s first publicly owned FSRU project inaugurated

With 110 million cubic meters of storage and 28 million cubic meters of gasification capacity, Turkey's first publicly owned floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and gasification vessel (FSRU) will add significant flexibility to Turkey's energy supply chain security, according to Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez.

The third newly built LNG Carrier was received by Capital Gas Ship Management

Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. took successful delivery today of the newbuilding LNG Carrier 'Aristarchos', built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, S.Korea. With cargo capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel is highly efficient, propelled with XDF engines and equipped with the latest available technologies, including an air lubrication system and increased filling limits (more than 99%).
