Icelandic volcano erupts, lighting up night sky near Reykjavik
A volcano erupted just 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Iceland's capital Reykjavik on March 19, with red lava spewing out of the ground and a crimson glow lighting up the night sky.

Merapi Volcano Erupted (VIDEO)
Indonesia's volcano Merapi, one of the world's most active volcanoes, erupted today. Clouds of grey ash reached 2 km height.
Authorities did not raise the rumbling volcano's alert status after the early-morning eruption, but they advised commercial planes to take caution in the area, Darik News reported.

Italy's Mount Etna, Europe's biggest live volcano, erupted overnight with lava flows and explosive burps, vulcanologists said on July 20.

Two fractures opened at the base of the South-East crater and on the north-eastern flank of the New South-East crater at about 3am local time (2am BST). The lava flows were accompanied by a Strombolian activity from the main craters. However nearby Catania airport remains open, reported express.co.uk.
