French Study Says Pfizer-Biontech Vaccine Less Effective against Indian Variant
A study by France's Pasteur Institute found people who had received two doses of Pfizer saw a three-fold reduction in their antibodies against the B. 1.617 variant.
The Pfizer vaccine is slightly less effective but appears to still protect against the more transmissible Covid-19 variant first identified in India, according to a study by France's Pasteur Institute.
Vaccination of children could start soon
Ljubljana – The head of the national advisory group for Covid-19 vaccination, Bojana Beović, has said that following the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for children aged 12 or more, the group will recommend vaccinating children, especially children suffering from chronic diseases.

Turkey moving to new normalization phase
Turkey this week is moving to a new normalization phase in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Minister Fahrettion Koca previously said that the Health Ministry's Science Board was working on plans on how to proceed toward normalization after June 1.

EU backs Pfizer jab for 12 to 15-year- olds
The EU's drug watchdog on May 28 approved the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus jab for 12 to 15-year-olds, the first vaccine to get the green light for children in the bloc.
The vaccine was "well tolerated" in adolescents and there were no "major concerns" in terms of side effects, the Amsterdam-based European Medicines Agency said.

Turkish national football team vaccinated
Some players of the Turkish national football team were vaccinated for the novel coronavirus on May 22.
A total of 11 players, including Altay Bayındır, Rıdvan Yılmaz and Umut Meras, received their second doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at Serik State Hospital in the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya.

Turkey to administer 30 mln doses of BioNTech jabs in June, says minister
Turkey will administer 30 million doses of the Pzifer/BioNTech vaccines to 30 million people in June, the country's health minister has said.
The country is expected to receive those doses at the end of May or in early June.
Turkey seals deal for 60 mln more doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine
Turkey has finalized a deal to buy 60 million more doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, with an option for an additional 30 million doses.
"This second supply agreement brings the total number of doses to be supplied to Turkey to up to 120 million, all of which will be delivered in 2021," according to a statement issued by BioNTech on May 20.
Turkey to receive 90 mln doses of Pfizer vaccine
Turkey has signed an agreement for the procurement of over 90 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines, the country's Health Minister has said.
In June, some 30 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech jabs will arrive in Turkey, and the deliveries will continue in July, August, and September, Fahrettin Koca told reporters.
