Celebrated Irish-American Lord of the Dance choreographer Michael Flatley will be making a stop at the Faliro Indoor Arena in Athens on Wednesday, June 19, with the production "Dangerous Games." The Lord of the Dance ensemble made its first appearance in 1996 and has since performed to more than 80 million people in 100 countries.

Attica's south coast sees rates rise

Australian rock legend Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds are headlining this year's Ejekt Fetsival at Plateia Nerou (Water Square) in Palaio Faliro on Athens's southern coast, in a lineup that also includes English rockers Editors and Wolf Alice, and American act Protomartyr in its first appearance in Greece. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Sailboats compete in the 9th Posidonia Cup

Sailboats are seen off the Bay of Faliro Friday taking part in the 9th Posidonia Cup, a race that is held ahead of the biennial Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition. This year a total of 500 yachtsmen, including sailing champions and major names in international shipping, are participating in the race with 58 vessels.

Dimitris Kammenos's car stolen

Police said on Thursday that the car of Dimitris Kammenos, an MP and senior official of junior coalition partner Independent Greeks, has been stolen.

The car, which is the property of the Greek Parliament, had been parked in the garage of his home in Palaio Faliro, southern Athens, before it was stolen on Monday.

Police seeking suspects in two armed robberies

Police in the capital on Wednesday were seeking the perpetrators behind two armed robberies, one in the southern suburb of Palaio Faliro and the other in Petroupoli, northwestern Athens, both on Tuesday night.

In the first incident, a lone assailant forced employees to hand over cash from the register at a gas station before fleeing on foot.
