French philhellene named special Culture Ministry adviser
French philhellene Olivier Descotes, former head of the French Institute in Athens, was named on Tuesday as special adviser to Culture Minister Aristides Baltas after resigning from the helm of the Benaki Museum, a post he had assumed earlier this year.

Bob Dylan Awarded 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature
Bob Dylan has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for 2016, announced Reuters.
The Swedish academy awarded the prize to the singer for "the creation of a new poetic language in the American song tradition."
With this prize, the 75-year old rock musician has been officially recognised as a poet.

Dead-end talk
The cynicism and low quality of debate seen in Parliament on Monday do not benefit democracy in the slightest, particularly when the issue at hand is corruption in the country's public life, a major concern in Greece.
This is the kind of issue that cannot be handled through the use of political fireworks, by dragging people through the mud or launching attacks at a personal level.
