Last Thursday, the server hosting Kathimerini English Edition's website (ekathimerini.com) crashed under the weight of visitors from across the world. The reason for the unprecedented interest was an announcement by a Greek archaeologist that a monumental grave excavated in 1996 at Stageira, the birthplace of Aristotle, most likely belonged to the great philosopher.

UNESCO proclaims 2016 ‘Year of Aristotle’
In celebration of 2,400 years since the birth of the great Greek thinker of antiquity and one of the fathers of western philosophy, Aristotle, UNESCO proclaimed 2016 the ‘Year of Aristotle’. A series of events to honour Aristotle have been scheduled throughout the year, with the most prestigious one planned to take place in Paris in November.
