Tsetska Tsacheva and Rumen Radev, the candidates of Bulgaria's two biggest parties, have failed to appear at yet another debate just days before the presidential elections on Sunday.

The distance between the candidates for president of GERB and BSP is closing. 31.4 % of voters would vote for Tsetska Tsacheva, while 27% would vote for Rumen Radev, showed a nationally representative survey of Mediana agency.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski has said it was he who asked the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) party to endorse him.

Oresharski, whose tenure is associated with nationwide protests and the collapse of Bulgaria's fourth-largest lender, is running has an independent in the November 06 presidential elections. 

"Plamen Oresharski is not DPS' real candidate but merely a step in the political kazachok in the direction of Rumen Radev. Unless a different deal is reached. Because the purpose of the colleagues from DPS is to find a way to power. There is no way for them through the right-wing," stated Dost's leader Lutvi Mestan on Nova TV.

The second-biggest opposition party of Bulgaria, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) has endorsed former PM Plamen Oresharski in the presidential elections.

There are as many as twenty-one presidential pairs running the forthcoming elections in Bulgaria, all competing to take over the office of President.

As many as 24 pairs have registered with Bulgaria's Central Electoral Commission as candidates to run in the presidential elections in November.

The probability of GERB nominating for president the chairman of Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva, the mayors of Sofia and Burgas - Yordanka Fandakova and Dimitar Nikolov, and Vice Premier Tomislav Donchev is 99%, said on bTV the chairman of the pre-election headquarters of GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

Former PM and current candidate for president Plamen Oresharski sees GERB and DPS as "possible partners" in his pre-election campaign.

Former Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski has filed documents with the Central Election Commission as a presidential candidate for the elections on November 6.

Oresharski has been nominated by an initiative committee. Danail Papazov, former Transport Minister in the Oresharski Cabinet, has been nominated for Vice President.
