Tina Šutej wins bronze at European Athletics Championships

Munich – Slovenia’s Tina Šutej won bronze in the pole vault at the European Athletics Championships on Wednesday, finishing with a height of 4.75 metres, close to her personal best of 4.76 metres in outdoor competitions.

The 33-year-old cleared all heights in the first try up until the 4.70 mark and then mustered 4.75 metres in the first attempt as well.

Not gold this time, but Stefanidi continues unprecedented medal run

Katerina Stefanidi's three-year gold medal run in major athletics championships ended Sunday when she won the bronze medal in the women's pole vault at the world championships in Doha, Qatar.

The reigning Olympic champion, who also won the world championships in 2017 and the European title in 2016 and 2018, cleared 4.85 meters at her second attempt.

Third place for Stefanidi at Doha's Worlds

Katerina Stefanidi earned Greece's first - and probably sole - medal on Sunday at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, finishing third at the women's pole vault final.

The former world champion and Olympic gold medallist could do no better than landing a bronze at the final, clearing 4.85 meters at her second attempt.

Kyriakopoulou wins bronze in pole vault at European indoors

Nikol Kyriakopoulou won a bronze medal in the women's pole vault at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow Sunday, bringing Greece's final medal tally to four (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).

Russian Anzhelika Sidorova won the event with a leap of 4.85 meters, but she competed as one of "Authorized Neutral Athletes" since Russia is officially banned.

Greek athletes win gold, silver in Berlin

Stefanidi wins Athens Street Pole Vault event

Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi won the 6th Athens Street Pole Vault on Friday, held at Syntagma Square in central Athens, clearing 4.80 meters.

This performance was her best for the season so far, as she had only managed 4.64 m. until Friday.

Stefanidi, also the world champion, tried to break her own national record of 4.91 m. but failed three times to clear 4.92 m.
