Two arrested in Thessaloniki for transporting migrants

Two men were arrested in Thessaloniki on Saturday for transporting irregular migrants, following a car chase on the old Thessaloniki-Kavala highway.

The suspects, aged 25 and 29, are facing accusations of resisting arrest, violence against officials, disruption of traffic safety and illegal entry into the country, since they also lacked residence permits. 

Two officers injured, man arrested in Athens car chase 

Two officers of the DIAS motorcycle unit were injured during a car chase in central Athens early Thursday morning. 

Police said a patrol car crew spotted a vehicle moving on the wrong direction on Pipinou Street at around 2:15 in the morning, and signaled the driver to stop, but he sped off. A chase ensued, involving other police forces, including the DIAS team. 

Four migrants among six killed in highway crash in Greece

Four migrants and a suspected trafficker died Saturday and another six were injured when their car collided head-on with another as it sped the wrong way on a major highway in Greece near the Turkish border, police said.

The driver of the other car, a 46-year-old Greek man, also died in the collision, police said.

Ano Liosia: shots fired and police car rammed

Police in northeastern Athens are investigating a shooting incident and the ramming of a patrol car.

The incident began shortly before midnight on Holy Thursday in the Ano Liosia district, at the junction of Fylis and Vlastou streets, when the driver of a silver SUV fired three shots at a black SUV with two occupants.

A Syrian Man who tried to Bribe Traffic Police Officers with nearly 10,000 Euros was Arrested in Bulgaria

A 23-year-old Syrian man was detained after he attempted to bribe traffic police officers in Sofia with nearly 10,000 euros.

The arrest was made around one o'clock this morning on "Maria Luiza" boulevard in Sofia.

After an argument between the young man who was driving a car and people who were driving in another car, a traffic police team came to the scene.

Wild car chase results in police officers’ slight injuries

Ljubljana/Trojane – The police attempted to stop a 23-year-old Turkish citizen due to speeding on Saturday evening, but he ignored their orders and sped off. Three police officers sustained minor injuries during a car chase that followed. It transpired that the man was transporting a Turkish migrant.
