Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reiterated his argument that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) will call for snap elections set for next fall.

"I think there will be an election in the fall," he said, speaking to TV100 broadcaster on Feb. 4.

The Parliamentary Drafting Commission on Feb. 3 decided to lift Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Semra Güzel's legislative immunity by a majority of votes. The commission will present its report to the Constitutional Justice Joint Committee next week.

The leader of the opposition VMRO-DPMNE in the RNM, Hristijan Mickoski, has asked Bulgaria to give written guarantees that it will not block his country on the road to the EU. Turkish forces "neutralized" at least nine YPG/PKK terrorists in northern Syria, across Turkey's border, authorities said yesterday.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has vowed the fight against terror will continue and said Turkish security forces were able to get into the hideouts of the illegal PKK group.

"We will continue our fight until there is no more terrorist left," he said on Jan. 30 at a ceremony for urban transformation projects in the Black Sea province of Trabzon.
