Mitsotakis hails ND victory, as Bakoyannis thanks supporters

The results of runoffs for local and regional government herald "the second step" toward a major political change for Greece, opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Sunday, as his New Democracy party was seen sweeping almost all of the country's 13 regional units and key municipalities.

Opposition New Democracy on Friday announced the names of eight new candidates who will be running on the conservative ticket in the July 7 snap elections.

Boosted by his party's strong showing in European Parliament elections, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis made an overture to swing voters ahead of the second round of local and regional elections this Sunday.

Bulgaria's Central Election Commission on May 28 published data based on 100% of the tally sheets processed by the regional election commissions show that five Bulgarian parties will have seats in the next European Parliament, reports BNT, 

Voter turnout in Bulgaria's elections for Members of the European Pareliment held on May 26 was 33,27%.
