The desire for change and the accumulating tension cause people to look for new faces beyond the familiar GERB and BSP, political scientist Parvan Simeonov, manager of Bulgarian polling agency Gallup International, told Focus Radio.

He added that this agreement would undermine Bulgarian national interests.

"The position of the Bulgarian government is not to join UN's global pact on migration," the deputy head of the GERB said after a meeting of coalition heads, Reuters reports. The agency says the juior coalition partner of GERB, the United Patrioty, strongly opposes the UN pact.

People are giving their trust more to the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) than to Boyko Borissov's GERB. This shows a study by the AFIS sociological agency. It was done between November 2 and 7, and 1010 Bulgarians took part in it.

According to sociologists, 23.7% of Bulgarians sympathize with the BSP and 22.2% with the ruling GERB party.
