Linking F-16s sale with Nordic states’ NATO bids ‘illogical’: Kalın
The efforts to link Türkiye's demand to buy F-16 jetfighters from the United States with its delayed ratification of Sweden and Finland's bid to join NATO are "illogical and counterproductive," a senior Turkish official has said, repeating that these two Nordic states will enter the alliance once they fulfill their commitments on the anti-terror fight.
Most wanted PKK member killed in anti-terror op
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced that one of the most senior PKK terrorists, so-called top-ranking PKK member in the country and wanted in the red category, was killed alongside six other terrorists in the southeastern province of Şırnak in an anti-terror operation.
In the operation carried out by the provincial Gendarmerie Command, seven terrorists were "neutralized."

Trial in İstiklal attack to begin on May 9
The trial of 36 suspects of the terrorist attack on İstiklal Street last November, claiming the lives of six people will begin on May 9.
The indictment regarding the deadly attack was accepted by an Istanbul High Criminal Court, while the court decided to set the hearing on May 9, 10 and 11.

US Congress says F-16 sale to Turkey depends on NATO approval
The US Congress cannot support the $20 billion sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey until Ankara ratifies the NATO memberships of Sweden and Finland, a bipartisan group of senators said on Thursday.
