Ukraine’s Zelensky offers Istanbul as site of peace talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected Moscow's offer to start peace negotiations in Belarus, instead, pointing at Istanbul, Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest or Baku for talks.
"Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku. We proposed all of them," Zelensky said on Feb. 27 in an address posted online.

United States joins the EU in Sanctions against Putin and Lavrov
US President Joe Biden has left for Delaware, where he is expected to meet with his security team.
White House spokesman Jen Psaki confirmed that the United States is joining its European allies and will impose sanctions directly on Russian President Vladimir Putin, the foreign minister and members of the Russian Security Council.
Street fighting begins in Kyiv; people urged to seek shelter
Russian troops stormed toward Ukraine's capital on Feb. 26, and street fighting broke out as city officials urged residents to take shelter. The country's president refused an American offer to evacuate, insisting that he would stay. "The fight is here," he said.
The EU will Block Putin and Lavrov's Bank Accounts
The European Union will block assets, including bank accounts, of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in European banks, but will not ban them from entering the 27-nation bloc to keep the negotiation channels open.

Kremlin: Russia is ready to Negotiate with Ukraine
Russia is ready to send a delegation for talks with Ukraine in Minsk. This was announced by the spokesman of Russian President Vladimir Putin - Dmitry Peskov, on Friday, BTA reports.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also said he was ready for talks. He called on his Russian counterpart to sit down at the negotiating table to stop the loss of human lives.

Emblematic former finance minister Dimitris Tsovolas has passed away
Dimitris Tsovolas passed away at the age of 79, after a difficult battle with cancer.
Dimitris Tsovolas was hospitalized in the last few days at the Attica Hospital. He was intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
He was born in 1942 in Melissourgoi, Arta.
He had studied law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was a distinguished lawyer.
