CHP leader suggests gov’t conspires against Istanbul mayor

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Jan. 3 accused the government of conspiring against Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

"We have important issues ahead of us. They want to seize the Istanbul Municipality, which the opposition won, with conspiracies," he said speaking to CHP members at the parliament.

CHP to submit disinformation law to Constitutional Court for annulment

Turkish citizenship database system provides perfect service: Ministry

In response to the allegations of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu over faulty voters' information in the Turkish citizenship database system, MERNİS, provided to the Supreme Election Board (YSK), the Interior Ministry stated on Aug. 12 that the system functions properly.

Motion sent to parliament to lift MP status over slapping police officer

A motion seeking to drop the parliamentarian status of a lawmaker from the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) was submitted to parliament late on June 16.

The action was taken against DBP Diyarbakır Deputy Salihe Aydeniz after a criminal complaint by an Istanbul prosecutor was sent to the Justice Ministry, which reported to the presidency about the procedure.
