Bulgaria's Socialists to Be Fierce Opposition in Parliament - BSP Chair

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will vote against the new center-right government on Friday, the party's head Mihail Mikov said in Parliament.

His comments came ahead of the lawmakers' move to vote on the cabinet lineup announced the previous day by Prime Minister candidate and conservative GERB's leader Boyko Borisov.

Meglena Kuneva, Deputy PM for EU Policies and Institutional Matters (RB)

Meglena Kuneva will be Deputy Prime Minister in charge of EU policies and institutional matters in the coalition cabinet of GERB party and the Reformist Bloc (RB) led by Boyko Borisov.

Nominated to the post by the RB, the current RB co-leader was vice premier in charge of EU issues in the governments led by Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Sergey Stanishev  (2002-2006).

Bulgaria's centre-right GERB party and left-wing ABV signed a partnership agreement on Thursday

The agreement opens the way for left wing ABV headed by former President Georgi Parvanov  to support the governance programme of GERB and the Reformist Bloc (RB).

GERB and right-wing Reformist Bloc (RB) signed an agreement to form a coalition government earlier on Thursday.

ABV To Support GERB-RB Governance Programme, Gets Deputy PM Post

ABV, the leftist party of former President Georgi Parvanov will support the governance programme of GERB and the Reformist Bloc (RB), said deputy ABV leader Ivaylo Kalfin at a news conference.

According to Paranov, Kalfin would get a post as deputy Prime Minister and minister of social policy in the new government of Bulgaria.

GERB to Receive Mandate to Form Bulgaria's Next Gov't

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is to give GERB leader Boyko Borisov the government mandate on Wednesday.

The move follows a few days of consultations with political parties at Bulgaria's Presidency.

Plevneliev has to hold the last round of talks, attended by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), prior to meeting Borisov.

ABV Yet to Decide on Having Minister in Bulgaria's Government

Left-wing Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) has not yet decided whether to participate in the next Bulgarian cabinet, ABV parliament group's Chairman Ivaylo Kalfin revealed Tuesday.

Kalfin said the party had already received a draft document outlining the priorities of conservative GERB and right-wing Reformist Bloc (RB), the two entities that are to form a minority coalition.
