Hunger striker could wear bracelet
Minister open to Romanos release with tag, suggests distance learning in meantime
Justice Minister Haralambos Athanasiou on Monday indicated that the jailed anarchist and bank robber Nikos Romanos, who is in the 30th day of a hunger strike in protest at authorities refusal to grant him furlough to attend lectures, could be allowed to do so with a monitoring bracelet.

SYRIZA MP responds to hunger strike criticism

Greek police clash with protesters in central Athens

SYRIZA MP on hunger strike over Syrian refugees, Romanos
Outspoken SYRIZA lawmaker Yiannis Micheloyiannakis (photo, center) announced on Saturday that he was going on hunger strike, citing a series of reasons ranging from solidarity for dozens of Syrian refugees who have been protesting outside Parliament, as well as austerity policies and the governments refusal to grant study furloughs to jailed bank robber and anarchist Nikos Romanos.
Greece 'Counting on TAP, Southern Energy Corridor'
Greece perceives both the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Sothern Energy Corridor, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos said during the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Venizelos declared while at a Greek-Turkish business forum in Athens that the Southern Energy Corridor was "opening a new page in the relations between the two countries".
