The soldier, who recently immigrated to Israel from America, was initially jailed for 11 days after eating a sandwich containing pork, which is forbidden by Jewish dietary law, public radio reported.
Agriculture Ministry: Romania may export frozen pork to China
Romania may begin the export of frozen pork to China, after pork producer Smithfield Romania has received the approval to be registered in the country in question, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) informed.

German company to open largest pig farm in Serbia
BELGRADE - Germany's largest meat producer Clemens Toennies will pay a visit to Serbia on December 1 to finalise a deal on opening a pig farm with 1,500,000 animal units, Belgrade-based Kurir reported on Tuesday.
Toennies plans to lease up to 15,000 hectares of land in Serbia for the pig farm.

Switzerland Halts Pork Imports Over Swine Fever Fears
Switzerland is to ban imports of live pigs and pork from several EU countries, including Bulgaria, in a bid to stop an African swine fever outbreak from reaching the country.
Imports from Bulgaria and Romania and some parts of Latvia and Croatia will be banned as of Wednesday, Swiss food safety authorities said on Tuesday.
