“Vera Su” Ship Finally Towed into Clear Waters

On the 36th day of the shipwreck of the "Vera Su" near the Yailata area, it was successfully towed. The action lasted more than seven hours and involved three tugs. The goal is to tow the ship to the port of Varna. The entire nitrogen fertilizer load was pre-unloaded to avoid contamination of the marine ecosystem in the event of a water leak.

A container with ionising radiation above the norm was identified at the port of Varna-West. Border Police and the Regional Health Inspectorate in Varna have been notified of the case, BNT reported.

There is no danger to the workers at the port.

The container full of scrap is placed on a special site.

Material for the Production of Amphetamines Worth around EUR 0.5 Billion was Detained at Varna Port

The precursor substance detained on Friday, 25 May, in Varna, could have been used for amphetamine production worth 500 million euros. This was stated by Deputy Director of Customs Agency Julian Mirkov, who said that on the black market a kilogram of the substance is used to produce 10,000 tablets at a price of about 20 euros.

The business plan of Port Varna EAD for 2015 envisages investments of around BGN 6.5 M, according to CEO Petar Seferov.

Seferov, as cited by the Cherno More newspaper and investor.bg, informs that the money will be spent on new equipment and facilities, depending on the anticipated cargo.
