Turkey's red meat production reached 1.2 million tons in 2019, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Feb. 11.

The country's output increased by 7.4 percent in 2019, from 1.12 million tons the previous year, TÜİK said.

The Bulgarian Food Agency has established consignments of more than 50 tonnes of salmonella-contaminated poultry meat imported from Poland, BNR reported.

Turkey's hen egg production increased by 1.2 percent to 1.69 billion units in November 2019 on a yearly basis, Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) revealed on Jan. 13.

The hen egg production increased by 1.3 percent to reach 18.15 billion units during the first 11 months of 2019, TÜİK data showed.

Chicken meat production in Turkey fell by 1.3% year-on-year in June, Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Aug. 8.

Turkey produced 211,435 tons of red meat in the first three months of this year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on May 10.

The European Union has produced 15.2 million tonnes of poultry meat in 2018, a new historic highlight. This represents a cumulative increase of about a quarter or 3.2 million tonnes since 2010, Eurostat data show.

Bird flu has been registered in a farm in the village of Bogdanitsa, Sadovo municipality, according to bTV. 

The case was confirmed yesterday. 39,000 laying hens will be culled and accordingly buried to prevent any spread of the disease.

The farm will be disinfected and the owners - compensated.

Dubai: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment on Tuesday announced a ban on the importation of all kinds of birds, chicks, hatching eggs and their non-heated products from Bulgaria, reports GulfNews. 

The ban also applies to the import of poultry meat and non-heat treated products and eggs from the affected country.

The UAE has lifted another ban on eggs and poultry products from two European countries.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment announced the lifting of the ban on the import of all kinds of domestic and wild birds, ornamental birds, chicks, hatching eggs, their products and their non-heat treated wastes from Italy and Bulgaria.

Eggs from the poultry farm in General Toshevo, where avian influenza was detected, are being withdrawn from the commercial network in Varna and the province, BNT reported.
