Djedovic Handanovic receives Power China delegation
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic received a Power China delegation on Wednesday to discuss development plans focusing on cooperation in the renewables sector and the Vetrozelena ("Windgreen") project.
Djedovic Handanovic: Lifespan of Djerdap 1 HPP extended by 30-40 years
KLADOVO - Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said on Friday a generator of the Djerdap 1 hydroelectric power plant had been refurbished successfully to extend the plant's lifespan by 30-40 years.
PPC Renewables to build energy storage facilities
PPC Renewables has been chosen by the Waste, Energy and Water Regulatory Authority to build and operate two energy storage facilities with a total capacity of 98 megawatts (MW).
The two storage facilities will be built in the region of Western Macedonia, near a PPC steam-electric power plant and where PPC Renewables is building photovoltaic arrays.

Sofia: Several Neighborhoods will be Without Hot Water for Over a Week
The subscribers of the "Sofia Iztok" thermal power plant will be without hot water from July 28 to August 4, announced the capital's "Toplofikatsia" company. The plant provides heat supply to the eastern districts of Sofia, including "Druzhba" and "Mladost".
Country’s largest solar plant now operational
Slovenia's largest solar power plant has been launched. Built for €5.5 million adjacent to the Brežice hydropower plant, it has a peak power of 6 MW, enough to meet the electricity needs of about 1,800 households.
What makes it special alongside its size is that it is connected directly to the 110 kilovolt transmission network and forms a hybrid system with the hydropower plant.

Mytilineos signs UK power plant deal
Mytilineos on Thursday announced the signing of a contract for the development of an open-cycle gas turbine (OCGT) power plant project in Immingham, North Lincolnshire in England, for VPI Immingham-B LLP (VPI-B), a non-consolidated group entity of Vitol.
The contract signed by Mytilineos consists of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 299-megawatt OCGT plant.

Turkey's electricity consumption up 12.19 pct in August
Turkey's electricity consumption increased by 12.19 percent in August compared to the same month last year, recording 32.12 billion kilowatt-hours, according to data of the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.
