Greek President reiterates call for German WWII reparations

 

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos renewed the demand for war reparations from Germany owed to Greece from the time when the Nazi forces had occupied the country, during the World War II.

During a visit to the village Kommeno by Arta in Western Greece, Pavlopoulos reiterated the Greek demand.

The first harassment occurred when the Greek President’s aircraft approached the Greek island of Rhodes for landing.

The Turkish radar operators attempted to communicate with the aircraft and warned that it…violated the Turkish airspace!

Greek president tells Turkish PM: More unites us than divides us

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos stressed that Greece and Turkey have more in common than appearances might suggest in a televised exchange ahead of private talks with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildarim.

"There are more things that unite us than divide us," Pavlopoulos said, adding that "Greece is the door and the window of Turkey to the EU."
